All the way from Barranquilla, Colombia, VALÉ did not disappoint with this amazing upbeat song. As the title describes, VALÉ just dropped her first single of the year (via Amalfi Records) last Friday and it’s been given an insane amount of support, all for good reason though of course.
This track is actually VALÉ’s first fully Spanish track! She talks about how the song was basically made on a whim, something she really likes about the song. The song is about just having fun and slowly accepting the little and big things of life. Instead of expecting the best out of it, just remember to value everything that makes your life yours.
With lyrics like “Aunque no brille el cielo the party’s never over / Por siempre vivimos sin un freno” (Even if the sky doesn't shine the party's never over / We always live without a brake) the song reflects that same theme of just living life the way it is, to live it without any stopping for feeling down. And the upbeat and percussive style of the song really just makes it such a vibe.
There’s honestly just something so special about her and I don’t know whether it’s the compelling melodies, insane vocals, or catchy hooks that draw me into an artist like VALÉ. I think it might be all of them but I think she very much has the potential to become one of the leaders of Colombian pop artists in this generation. I feel like it’s honestly really hard to hate a VALÉ song because they all have their own uniqueness that make each of them so likable (musically and lyrically).
VALÉ has said time and time again that she has so much planned for this year and I can’t wait to see what else she has left in store for us.
Que viva la niña, se llama Valentina!
